Supporting people & families with dementia & memory problems

Peggy’s World CiC is a new service providing holistic support for people with memory problems including dementia, older age and frailty.  We have a “one stop shop” style building based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and support families, not dependent on where they live.

We aim to support families in a holistic manner with support and leadership via our Specialist Dementia Nurse Tilly.  Our aim is to sustain good mental health for whole family units and sustain relationships by offering timely support with a flexible and responsive approach to a families needs.

We do this by providing Registered personal care services with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  Additionally to home care services we also provide day care, Peer Support via Peggy’s Place and overnight to short break accommodation in a home from home environment for couples as well as individuals where traditional residential care is not required.  This could be for a time when a wife or husband that supports an individual also needs some support, or respite, but the person with dementia does not wish to receive respite on their own for example.  By supporting individuals and their family with familiar staff members we wish to build relationships to enable transitions in care to be calm and cause least distress for all concerned. We also organise Day Trips as and when people make a request or suggestion, usually during the summer months.

Peggy’s World is a Community Interest Company (CIC) which is a form of Social Enterprise and a member of Social Enterprise UK.  As a Social Enterprise our aim is to support the community we serve by returning surplus back to the community.  We are always interested to hear what people need or want and include families in any developments.
